The Circular Ruins (J. L. Borges)

“The Circular Ruins” is a short story written by the famous Argentinean writer Jorge Luis Borges. It is well known all over the world. Its plot has been discussed at many important seminaries.
There is only one main character; an unknown magician who travels to an old sacred temple with the purpose of creating a son out of his dreams. The idea is very interesting and the plot can get really captivating. Once the story ends, the reader con spend more time analyzing it that what it took him or her to read it.
The only problem is understanding the author’s wide vocabulary and odd expressions, which are the reasons why Borges is known by many as an Argentinean Shakespeare. This fact can produce difficulties when reading. All in all, the moral of the story is great, and it really is worth reading it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone.
